John's Photographic Projects

The number of images we see every day has turned photography into a motion still. With speed and quantity the norm in mass media, I am attracted to the slower process required with bulkier, film-based equipment. A photograph in its stillness, should offer a detailed, unique perspective of a place or an event. It is an unadorned artifact resulting from a heightened state of seeing and understanding. Anything other than this is not a photograph, it is a fragment within a fleeting movement.
